Cinnamon Apple Cereal
(adapted from Alive in 5 by Angela Elliott)
I’ve been eating this fresh raw cereal every day but when I prepared it this morning I decided to heat it up a bit instead of devouring it cold.  It was 2 degrees outside with a fresh blanket of snow from yesterday’s snow storm!
I don’t use measurements but I will give approx. amounts.

couple tablespoons almond pulp (leftover from making homemade almond milk)
1/2 apple cut up small pieces (I eat the other half with the cereal)
couple tablespoons raisins
one tablespoon shredded coconut, dried and unsweetened
couple teaspoons ground flaxseed
tablespoon or two of cooked quinoa (leftover & saved in my fridge)
shake of ground nutmeg
shake of ground cinnamon
tiny pinch of salt
(optional) agave or honey (i rarely use this, it doesn’t really need it)
almond milk

combine all ingredients except apples.  mix well to distribute spices evenly.  add apples and as much milk as desired.  enjoy!
today, i heated it on the stove on low (no microwaves in this house).  a few minutes of constant stirring and it was perfectly warmed for a cold colorado morning!

I may have become awakened; I may like you to be awakened, but that is my thing, not your thing. If you are fast asleep and dreaming beautiful dreams, who am I to disturb you? I will wait. I will surround you like a fragrance. And if that fragrance catches you, and if that fragrance brings you out of your sleep, it is okay. But it is not a direct effort, it is very, very indirect. And always remember: only those people who are absolutely indirect can be of any help. Direct help is from the politician, indirect help is from the sage.
